Jupiter High Ledge

This is an excellent dive for more experienced divers about one and a half miles south of Jupiter Inlet. The town of Jupiter is just north of Palm Beach and is marked by a tall stone lighthouse. The Gulf Stream flows parallel to the beach less than one mile from shore and several miles in length.

This reef has the highest relief of any in the area - about 25 to 30 feet. The sand floor is located at 90 feet and the top of the reef jumps up to a depth of 65 feet. The face of the ledge is deeply pock-marked with crevasses and small caves galore, making it a haven for lobster and all kinds of fish. There are many schooling snapper, amberjack and grunt, occasionally so thick, they obscure the reef.
