Jap Rock

Located at the north end of Boca Raton public beach (north of Boca Raton Inlet), this is an excellent reef for both snorkelers and those who appreciate a good beach dive. The rocks are very close to the surface, making it easy to find but tough to dive when it is rough as the waves actually break on the rocks, so be careful and wear skin protection such as a wetsuit or skin suit.

The shallow rocks are full of tropical fish and juvenile lobsters. Soft corals and colorful sponges are abundant. The currents in the area can be strong, which is also the reason for the wonderful sea life. Be cautious of rip currents and tides since this is an unprotected area of the beach.
