Cable Crossing

A quarter mile offshore in Palm Beach is a delightful site called Cable Crossing which is an ideal dive for novices, and is often used as an open-water training site. Snorkelers can enjoy the shallow 25 foot depth of this reef, too.

There are several two-to-three foot ledges that dominate this area and are honey-combed with mini-caves that are perfect hiding places for fish and other sea creatures seeking shelter. Some huge tarpon are often seen wandering through the area. This reef is a typical Palm Beach reef, however although it has the characteristics of the deeper reefs it is shallow and easily acessible with no current.

This dive site is a protected area and as a result you will see numerous juvenile tropicals as it appears to be an ideal breeding area. This an excellent dive for the inexperienced or new diver.
