Florida Keys Area Dive Sites Palm Beach Ft. Lauderdale Miami-Dade Florida Keys |
Just south of Conch Reef, Little Conch Reef offers good lobstering opportunities in shallower waters (15-30 feet). In spite of being located just to the south of the more popular Conch Reef, we usually have this site to ourselves and rarely see commercial dive operators moored here. Large gorgonians and barrel sponges take advantage of the prevailing northerly currents in this area and we've seen a number of large loggerhead turtles here on occasion. In the shallows, a few healthy stands of staghorn coral remain unmolested and appear to be thriving. |
