Florida Keys Area Dive Sites Palm Beach Ft. Lauderdale Miami-Dade Florida Keys |
A favorite site for snorkelers is Grecian Rocks, a very shallow 4 to 6 foot deep narrow reef featuring some of the best remaining stands of elkhorn coral and plenty of small tropical fish. Look closely to find anemones between the cracks in the reef mass. It's not hard to get caught up in the surge here, so take care when snorkeling over the very shallow reef beds. We've seen people actually stand up on top of large brain corals here -- a decidedly poor decision which ignores the basic rules of coral reef protection and common sense. |
