Alexander's Wreck

Another popular artificial reef by Chet Alexander, a local commercial salvor, is know as "Alexander's Wreck." A former destroyer escort, it was purchased from the Navy and sunk on the Gulf side in shallow water (35 feet). This site is known for its protected Jewfish population, which after 10 years of endangered status, are finally returning to greater numbers in South Florida.
