Ultra Freeze

The Ultra Freeze was placed in the RJ Diving Ventures artificial reef site by the South Florida Spearfishing Council in the summer of 1984, two miles north of Fowey Reef Lighthouse. She had served as a refridgerator ship until she found her permanent resting place in 120 feet of water, offering divers approximately 40 feet of relief. After Hurricane Andrew hit her on August 24, 1992, her starboard side hull was torn, the entire vessel bent into an L-shape, but never-the-less she remains upright, with little of the marine gorwth being affected.
