Stability Reefs
These tetrahedron, or pyramid shaped structures are produced from Rinker Concrete ready-mix trucks, returning to the plant with waste concrete to un-load. Tetrahedron molds are available for the trucks to off-load to and the result is a 100% recycled product for use in the construction of artificial reefs. In some cases, rubber tires are cut up and added to the concrete mold, thus disposing of more unwanted material which would otherwise be environmentally damaging. The tetrahedron units can be stacked in multiple layers to designed profiles, creating complex and varied spaces and void areas, similar to those found on natural reef communities. |
