Miami Area Dive Sites The Dive Charter Operator I recommend to dive these wreck sites is: RJ Diving Ventures |
Located in the Dade Sport Fishing Council Site North, the Bluefire is one of Miami's older artificial reefs, sunk in January of 1983 in 110 feet of water. The Bluefire is slightly south and east of Fowey Lighthouse. The Bluefire is one of those classic wreck dives and because of its more remote location, it is not dived as often and still remains pristine. I have seen Caribbean Reef sharks near her bow and a manta ray "flying" by her stern. The Bluefire has an abundance of soft coral growth and all the typical marine life you would find characteristic at this depth and profile. Spiny oysters, sponges, telestation coral and the typical "mob" of barracuda guarding the bow. The Bluefire is located at Loran coordinates Lattitude 25 33' 58.6" Longitude 80 5' 2.0" |
